Broken pavements have left Barnet with a multi million pound compensation bill

Barnet Council has paid out £1.79million in compensation to people who have been injured by tripping on pavements in the borough in the past five years. It is ranked the ninth worst local authority in the country according to information the Liberal Democrats obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

"The money wasted on compensation would be far better spent repairing our roads and pavements in the first place."
