Barnet Liberal Democrats present
18 March 2021 • 20:00-21:30 • Via Zoom
Adam Wagner is a human rights barrister who has become Britain's go-to expert on the ever-changing lockdown rules. In the past week his work advising Reclaim These Streets has raised his profile still higher.
Adam, of Doughty Street Chambers, is well known for his human rights advocacy work. He founded both the multi-award winning human rights charity EachOther and the acclaimed UK Human Rights Blog, and is a sought after legal commentator on social media (@adamwagner1), television and radio.
Adam is well placed to discuss the severe tension between civil liberties and coronavirus legislation. This year he hit the headlines after calculating that lockdown rules in England had been changed at least 64 times since the start of the pandemic, once every 4.5 days on average. Adam is possibly the only person who has read every word of the laws.
In the light of the extraordinary and troubling government plans to crack down on peaceful protest, this is a rare opportunity to hear from one of Britain's leading voices defending civil liberties.
